That depends on how you define "separate". Certainly there is no requirement that all of the gyrations you mentioned coming in through Diner Space don't give REs domains one more count in the metrics that the internet uses to determine popularity.
Think of it like Amway or multi level marketing. If you, or Agelbert, or the Contrarians, develop any kind of following, and that following comes through RE's front door, he will get credit for the increased acitivity, one way or another. By providing the domain door, he can collect more hits off those who do show up looking for some critical thought or a place they can talk without facts or information or ideas being erased for not agreeing with the herd. So it is win-win for him, he keeps the blonde haired blue eyed island safe for the gullible, but gets internet metric credit for any traffic you or Agelbert drive through his front door.
You don't think that those who buy into the internet popularity game would ever allow anyone else's attention in the vicinity of their domain to go uncounted do you? And the real problem is you aren't talking to the Wizard of Oz, only a lackey who hosed up the database when he began playing censorship games. And was forced to defend SpyGate because Haniel probably wasn't willing to lie, whereas RE has no trouble with not only making stuff up, but then erasing the posts of those who notice.
