So he doesn't know dick about resource scarcity, picks back sources, but he does it by DESIGN, unlike the generally ignorant who might just buy Global Research or PCI as anything other than lobbying groups. But he PREACHES doom and gloom, cliffs here and there, etc etc. And in an instant seems to switch positions and begins plotting SUN leadership roles, BAU construction companies, monetizing the red slime he sells to those who obviously have no ability to pass an IQ test.....and as this characteristic becomes more obvious.....I begin to have some very real doubts as to his BELIEF in the doom and gloom he shovels to the sycophants.

So I'm not sure its fixing stupid....oh sure he is ignorant of his facts and can't be bothered to LEARN anything prior to demonstrating it....can't argue his way out of a wet paper bag because while he might have passed an IQ test he can't survive a single broadside from those with experience in a given field....but I'm not sure stupid is it.

I caught the odor of mendacity from him right at the beginning and waited for the money and censorship to assert itself.

You are correct that he is insincere and has the plan of one demented by his sheer failures, a perfect score in that regard.

My use of the word stupid was in reference to his lackeys MKing, may I humbly suggest the word applies to them precisely, and may of course be enhanced by other descriptions elaborating on the term?

Certainly it doesn't require much of an intellect to nod vigorously when the emperor asks how pretty his new clothes are. Some folks NEED that sort of exercise, it makes them  feel like they have a value.

My fascination with peak oil over the years has been driven by the true believers, those who deny reality, facts, history, anything necessary that they might proclaim on a daily basis.. OH NOES!!! THE END IS NIGH!!!!….

Their descriptions of what it does to their family life, how it changed their hopes and dreams, how they altered their life when they "learned" of how everyone is going to die off, how their relatives react, and how through it all they persevere and collect more bullets, beans or solar ovens. The true believers can hold my attention for years, as a sort of long term observation on how whacked someone can be and still function.

Of interest is the observation that RE has NONE of those people on his board. Most treat it like a fantasy role playing game, and are pretty firmly planted in BAU with jobs, cars, mortgages, retirement contributions, pump out little new consumers just like the people they claim to despise,  they travel and take vacations and whatnot, and RE is perhaps the worst of the lot in general behavior. He jets around the hemisphere to have his teeth fixed….or drink beer with buddies. He stays at hotels within a few miles of his home because….he can.

But the regulars? Really, how many IQ points does it take to behave as required?

Congratulations on that.  I must admit I was taken in by the fact that he admitted to some of his faults, e.g. being banned as a troll on other boards, so I figured he was honest but flawed, but hey, aren't the best of us?  It wasn't until the whole spying on MKing affair that I started to have doubts.

Now I see why the fearless squealer told me to "stuff it" when I offered him Alexa advice.

It has become obvious that he already knew how simple it was to manipulate Alexa - because he was in the middle of it !!!

Most serious webmasters take Alexa with a grain of salt because the #'s are so easy to manipulate. Most folk do it to get more $$ for their ads, but the bossman is doing it to misrepresent his popularity to members and allies who still support him.

Anyone with one live brain cell can look at the Diners recent Alexa climb from 800k to 400k (and associated pageviews and time on site ToS) and conclude they are being manipulated.  Not one thing has changed about the Diner since Alexa 800k - still get the looong redirect from main page doomsteaddiner.net. Stll has obscure navigation (brown text on brown background duh) and long outdated articles as masthead (new visitor killer) -- then trying to get to forum gives you another redirect. Arriving at forum, you're greeted with the picture of a person who looks like they just crawled from a dumpster after a week long wiskey binge.  Really inviting to newcomers, lol.

But boss wants everyone to believe that suddenly,  visitors who before bounced at 70% suddenly want to hang around twice as much (bounce 38%) despite the same horrible layout and loooong redirects. And not only do they suddenly want to stay, but they decided to start visiting more than twice as many pages (4 vs 1.8 before).  And finally, the stat that screams manipulation - these same newly energized visitors decided to spend 400% more time on the Diner. (from about 1.8 minutes to 8 minutes, lol).

Since the (not so) secret to manipulate Alexa is to install Alexa toolbar the stats leave little doubt that the Diners new Alexa bonanza isn't due to Diners newfound popularity with visitors, but to someone who spends a lot of time surfing the Diner installing an Alexa toolbar.

Most folks who employ the little Alexa booster know enough to be sure not to change other stats too radically or quickly, as these stats are mostly impacted by site makeovers, or similar radical changes.

The Diner remains the same ole boring empty barn - just the boss decided to  try to stem the exodus by tricking the members into staying to "ride the wave".  Got surfboards? - lol.

Just thought I'd give a little update.... I briefly turned my Alexa toolbar back on and found that the Diner's US ranking has dropped to 122K...

While most of the Admins have real difficulty with sending posting to the Duly Noted & Filed folder, I do not have this problem.

Once I decided enough was enough here, I settled on doing what everybody else who runs a blog does to keep the Commentariat from spinning out of control, which was to get rid of posting designed to screw up the board.

Let me be clear here.  If your post contains a complaint about "censorship", it will never see the light of day, so don't bother complaining.

If I can't find anything worthwhile in the post which has not already been hashed over 6 ways from Sunday, it also probably gets duly noted and filed.

If the tone is obnoxious, DN & F too!

If you insult me or any of the other Admins, DN & F!

If I just happen to be pissed off and have a low tolerance day, DN & F for you!  LOL.

Its MY **** Blog!  I pay the bills here!  Stick it where the SUN  :icon_sunny: Don't Shine if you don't like it, or better yet start your OWN **** Blog!

As far as Admins setting an example of Righteous Behavior, I do support that idea, and I am trying to uphold it myself.  However, Surly continues to read the Sewer, which I do not do.  So he sees the vitriole pitched there, and he reacts to that.  If it gets pitched out on that board, it is fair game for an Admin here to respond in kind if he so chooses to do so.  You reap what you sow.  Play Nice on your Board, we will play nice here.  Pitch Napalm on yours, expect to get Napalmed back here.

That is all she wrote.

RE

Again, as stated yesterday it escapes me as to how anyone can function over there unless they want to kiss the asses of those **** imbeciles and nod in agreement with their every utterance. I suppose you could just read their **** for laughs on occasion, but there buffoonery is hardly unique.

It just isn't a forum any longer, its a cesspool of turd worship. Just listen to that blowhard in the above rant, he says he is cleaning up his act as an admin.  :D ;D ;D ::)

He has been a bit quiet about all the claims of skyrocketing popularity change as of late....I guess now we know why. About as fair weather a personality as it gets. Anyone catch his recent temper tantrum over "Its mine, I pay the bills, I'll do whatever I want!!"?

I responded saying exactly what I felt about such behavior and what age of child it resembled, and what it says about the quality of ones ideas that this is excuse used to make sure there aren't any others. It will be deep sixed of course. But probably not before he reads it.  ;D ;D

Yes, I did MKing, it was the topic of my posting right above this on the anti-diner.

Thought I would throw out this little jewel, it being unlikely that the hypocrisy displayed will survive moderation.

RE has admitted in PMs that I might be the best geochemist in the world, quite nice of him I might add ;D ;D but when I mention some recent submitted papers and the amount of footnoting necessary to complete real science work, he goes off into one of his "Moriaty" temper tantrums.

He really has put himself in a bind, first validating my professional work at what I consider to be quite a high level  ;D ;D and then trying to pretend, among others who aren't familiar with my extensive and accomplished background, that it doesn't exist.

What a lightweight this guy is.

Anyway, for your education on the hypocrisy of Stony Stevenson, that boy/man child who went to Columbia at age 16 and will forevermore stain the idea that passing an IQ test has anything to do with results.

Note how he puffs himself up once again as a Great Scientist, paraphrasing the famous  quote from Isaac Newton, "If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants"

From the guy who says he knows who am I, and has had plenty of time to review my professional publications.

Says 121k! Cool! Now we can find out how many women feminine hygiene product forums are far more popular than the Diner!

Oh this is hysterical. Ladies and gentlemen, I introduce you to a forum far more popular than the Diner, absolute BURIES them in the Alexa rankings, making the Diner look like some woebegone red headed step child lost in the wilderness when compared to the land of milk and honey, dancing girls and everything someone might want in this world.

ladies and gentlemen...I give you....cats!

Please MKing, He doesn't give the fattest s.h.i.t. He could tell those donkeys anything and they would believe and nod to him.

He placed you in the Dungeon in full public view for producing a legal document on that juice head Ruppert you didn't even write. Their lefties, no shame at all, not a smidgeon.

You caught him there as well being a complete know nothing, did he care? Of course not. We were lucky he didn't put the sillies though a week of worship and prayer for that twisted drunk. Surprised they didn't do a podcast of weeping and sobbing and testimonials to their demented hero. Just imagine The Propaganda Minister of BS leading those loonies in prayer with a bible in hand and Baby Doc in tears over the loss of that great man you dared to produce some facts about. Monsta playing some lovely funeral music in the background, the deep organ music stuff for enhancement.   :D

When someone who isn't a zero or looney jumps from a window in despair, they chant, "Jump You F.u.c.k.e.r" They run a clean respectable website where napalm artists aren't allowed.  ;D ;D ;)

Be serious, please, when you have a circle of retards around you, you don't get caught in errors or fallacies.
